Take One Action Film Festival wishes to invite you to join us for our Dundee festival. We'll be at DCA Cinema, Steps Theatre and Hot Chocolate Trust from 7th-9th November for a weekend of world-changing cinema and inspiring conversations!
At Take One Action, we believe in the power of film and storytelling to create collective change, and their festival this year is themed around ‘real utopias’, as we aim to highlight existing projects and movements that are seeds of utopian futures, and explore how to build upon them locally.
The programme spans themes of renters' rights, decolonisation, trans joy, climate justice, and creating community amidst chaos, with films from Scotland, Kenya, Mexico and beyond. I've included below a wee highlight of events that might be most of interest to your community.
All events are pay-what-you-can (£0-20), and there is an audience access fund available to support travel and childcare costs for those who need it (email festival@takeoneaction.org.uk to apply).
All films in the programme have descriptive subtitles, and some events will have live captioning for the introduction and conversation too. You can find further information about the festival's access provision here.
These events will provide an opportunity for people to come together and explore some of the key issues affecting our local and global communities, and to leave feeling better-equipped to nurture real utopias in their own communities.
