Looking back on July and forward to August - here's our Room to Be One Pager update.


July's Highlights:


  • Hollis introduced us to his clever permaculture game he designed and made from scratch which teaches the very basics of ecosystems, habitats and the importance of biodiversity.

  • Our Listening Chairs from the Listen to the Lavender art project with Manuela were popped up to Ninewells Community Garden, the first of three nature spaces the art installation will be travelling to this summer. Thank you Jek for such a warm welcome!

  • Emory a student from Dundee joined us in the garden to talk about fashion and identity whilst we watered and weeded. You are all welcome to participate in Emory's survey. The QR code is on the poster.

  • We painted our upcycled seating and planting area at Boomerang white - the blank canvas we need before we add a splash of colour!

  • We made origami hexagonal fidget flips out of paper during our Chill/Create session. Thank you Anna for patiently teaching us the folds! A simple make-shift fidget toy.

  • We launched the first of our new focus listening group Q.A.F (Queer as Folkus). The topic was allyship and people were invited to share their experiences and thoughts on what active allyship looks like for them. Q.A.F is centred around deep listening as opposed to debate, giving space to speak without interruption or fear of disagreement.
