As part of Room to Be's Inclusivi-T programme, reaching out to the trans, non-binary and intersex community, DCA is offering free tickets to see two of their listed films for Pride.
Pariah - Monday 16th June at 18.15
Teenage Alike (Adepero Oduye) lives in Brooklyn's Fort Greene neighbourhood with her parents (Charles Parnell, Kim Wayans) and younger sister (Sahra Mellesse).
Alike quietly embraces her identity as a lesbian and is looking for her first lover, but she wonders how much she can truly confide in her family, especially with her parents' marriage already strained. When Alike's mother presses her to befriend a colleague's daughter (Aasha Davis), Alike finds her to be a pleasant companion.
Bent - Sunday 22nd June at 14:30
Bent is the powerful and moving film adaptation of Martin Sherman’s award-winning 1979 stage play. Set amidst the decadence of pre-war fascist Germany, Bent stars Lothaire Bluteau, Clive Owen, Ian McKellen, and Mick Jagger, and is an emotional tale of love, as three homosexual men fight for survival in the face of persecution.
